Tegenaria Domestica

Posted on Updated on

I have returned to Plymouth.

I’d like to introduce you all to my new room-mate; she moved in during my time away, and has made clever use of the tiny space between the wall and the wardrobe.

Notice how she has decked out the area with a healthy coating of web. She’s a shy creature, and though she wonders from her makeshift bedroom every hour or so. The moment I take up a cup to capture her, and take her to the safety of the outside world, she scurries back inside with a speed cheetahs would envy. Hoovering her up doesn’t seem an option, but the tatty, dusty cobwebs are beginning to irritate me. The weird thing is, she just stays there going in and out, and in and out, and I’ve never seen a spider act like this before.

An interesting welcome home, I can assure you.
